Gentlemen:
I have 3 Sako 75 riles that have been heavily hunted and found that all the stock cross bolts are loose. Should i lock tite them ? If so, what should i torque them to. Should i remove the stocks or leave them on the rifles?
Thank You
Paul K

Are they loose from coming unscrewed or loose because the wood has failed.

If they have become unscrewed lock tight them if the wood has failed I think I glass bed them along with the action.

P dog shooter:
The wood has not failed. I think it is wood compression or shrinkage more than anything else.

If the wood is compress or has shrunk just tighting them well not help much. Still leaves space around the bolt.

I think I would glass them in place. Not only well that stop them from moving it will make the stock stronger.
