does anyone have a Browning B-80,in their rack? I was given one and have a question about the shell stop button. when bolt is cocked and then released by the shell stop button,my button stayes at an angle,to the receiver. it looks as if the shell stop is blocked by the shell carrier. when gun is fired,or the carrier pin is pushed then shell stop is released. is this the way this gun works???? or do I have a problem??? thank you for your time------parker

I too have a B-80 and although I haven't shot it in awhile I believe that your gun is working properly. I love mine, it's one of the better autos I've had, and in case you didn't know it's really just a rebadged Beretta. Not a bad thing at all.

I had one and traded it off. I was used to my Light Twelve and when I loaded the B-80, I would forget to push that button and the second shot would not chamber. It shot well but I just was not satified with it. But if you shoot it enough, I am sure it will be a good shooter.

Bill, the loading procedure of the B80 is the following : -pull bolt handle of empty gun, it will lock open ; -drop a shell in the loading port and press bolt release to chamber the round, put safety on ; -fill magazine. If you want to carry the gun loaded with chamber empty, fill the magazine with bolt closed and press the carrier pin to free the shells. When preparing to fire, pull and release bolt to chamber the first. In both cases, all shells will chamber and fire in sequence.
