I picked up a pre - 64 Winchester Mod 70 in .270 cal. Couple of questions. Were these bolts jeweled? Also looking for someone to restore the stock.

Only the supergrades were jewelled, I believe. Does it have the "Super Grade" logo on the bottom metal?

that would be sweet, but no, no logo. The stock is in excellent condition considering it's age with one problem. It was left standing on a concrete floor so buttplate is in poor shape due to rust and pitting. There is some discoloration at the heel but wood is solid.

Another question. The rifle is a 1953 standard grade and came with two stocks. One has a checkered metal buttplate and the other has an aftermarket pad. Which would be correct, a metal plate or pad?
