I bought a ruger 77 in 3006 for huntig big game and moose. the new kind with a better looking stock .
what is your opinion ? good gun or trash. if you have experience with ruger 77 then please tel me about it.

Why ask opinions after you bought it? You have it, it should be a good gun. Go shoot it and find out.

i have to wait 2-4 weeks for the licens . i can shoot it before receivingthe licens and brinb the gun.

I own two Ruger M-77 MKII rifles and they are excellent rifles. The only negative thing about them is the non-adjustable trigger. I had my Ruger M77 .270's trigger replaced by an adjustable one.

I've been hunting and shooting Ruger M77's and M77/MkII's for years now and swear by them. They're strong, rugged as hell and will serve you well. My entire sporting rifle battery is now made up of M77's and MkII's (with a #1 thrown into the mix). I've had no trouble with them and find them very reliable.

I've got that same stainless MkII in 30-06 and other than the trigger being slightly rough (I'll replace it with a Timney one of these days when I get time), it's a fantastic rifle. If I had to choose just ONE centerfire sporting rifle for the rest of my days it would have to be that stainless MkII 30-06.

Nothing needs to be said for the 30-06 round itself, it's an all-time classic and an excellent choice for an all-purpose round.

If it shoots well and you get the trigger tuned up you should have a very rugged and dependable rifle. I think the finish on Ruger ss rifles is too bright though. I would get it coated with a non glare finish. I have also just spray painted them and they were fine.

there is a gunsmith in our country who claims to blue(yes blue) the stainless barrels. i was a little bit scared by the shining barrel, but it is certainly possible to do something about it. i was in the gunshop and tried a great amount of rifles. Sako. tikka. sauer, winchester, etc,but the ruger was fitting me so well like a pair of glove. then i choose the ruger. now i have to wait nearly a mounth for the ruger and a few more days for opning season of moose hunting

I have sevearl ruger 77s I think that you have a rifle that well give you a lifetime of good hunting and you well kill a lot of game with it.
