I was wondering if just working the bolt repeatedly would smooth-out the action of my new M70? I have done so a few hundred times (OK,stop laughing!)and I have noticed wear marks on the bolt and action. I wish that I could just shoot it alot, but I live in a city and range time is limited. Wolf

Yes, working the action several hundred times will smooth it out sufficiently. Make sure the bolt is clean (no machining chips or burrs) and lightly lubed.

Work the safety also while you are at it...

Good point DeBee,

Work the safety a lot to smooth it up, and maybe lessen the noise.

Man, I just can't spell for squat!
