What does it cost to open a Mauser action?
And how big before you have to go to the front?
Assuming the rest of conversion os already happening, how much more to grind off the rear?
Thanks for the response....

I think that you need to be a bit more specific.

What cartridge are you converting to?

Are you using original or custom bottom metal?

Custom everything.
I just want to know how much it will add to open the action up to the rear.

[Razz] You're joking.
Thing is it's a wildcat, and it can be whatever length. I don't want to add another $300 to the gun, just for another .15", but if it's a half-hour's worth of work at $70/hr, then it's negligable.
I really have no idea what is involved.

BB,
the price, as always, depends...

if you are looking to do a HH sized mag, then say

150 for action and bolt face, which should/could include a new follower...

do you want it blued afterwards?

Do you want the smith to do the chambering?

If you had
sights
rebarrel
boltface
feeding/action
reblue

300 bucks aint bad...

It costs more to get it done right than to get it done wrong...
