Is the Charles Daly Zatava mauser action the same measurements as the 98 mauser. I am looking for a stock and wondering if a drop in stock will work?

Yes it should. The one I bought drops into a stock inletted for a MKX. Usually a stock inletted for a surplus 98 would need to have to floorplate area opened a little for a MKX to fit. So the Daly should fit most 98 stocks but, might require just a little fitting.

It drops into a MK X stock because it is a Mark X action. You will have an unsightly gap in the floorplate area in front of the forward screw if you try to put a Mark X action into a 98 stock. The 98 floorplate extends about 1/8" further than the mark X floorplate. That's a huge gap to fill and get good results.

Other than that, the only other potential problem area I can think of would be for the safety, you'll have to remove some wood for clearance.

Regards,

Dan
