I am re-finishing the stock on a M70. I am almost finished with the stain and I do not know which clear finish coat to go with. I want a very durable and waterproof finish. I was thinking of a spray on epoxy-based finish called Acra-Coat from Brownell's. It takes up to a week to dry... then you apply additional coats if needed. Anyone use this product, or advise would be greatly appreciated!!

Its similar to duraplast that dupont makes. Don,t overspray it,and you should be fine.

wolfgar, i just got through redoing a walnut stock for my 300/8-300 rifle. after sanding, staining, and preping it, i gave it 3 coats of painter's touch gloss clear spray by rustoleum. it looks real nice. using 3 coats seals the wood and makes it shine.just take your time with what ever you use and it will turn out great. dave when in rome, punt
