Found a nice FN barreled action
at a gunshow is Ogden Utah last weekend.. no serial #... stamped FN made in Belgiu (M missing, misstamp).. barrel marked below woodline, Cal. 30-06.. good clean rifleing, bright bore.. with one-piece Redfield mount and rings.. $225.. I think I did okay.. Les

That would be a pre 1968 action. After that date even the actions that were imported had to have serial numbers. I have one made into a 270 wby that I bought in the 80s for $175 and the chamber is right at the wood line.

bolted it into a Corelight plastic stock today, mounted a 3.5 to 10 Brunton scope.. bore sighted and shot it for group at 100yds .. shooting sub MOA with one of my favorite handloads 165gr Hornady SST 60 gr RL19.. HerrMesser, thanks for the info.. on lack of serial #.. Les

Oh yeah, you did GOOD! Would LOVE to have barged into that one.

Am working on two such actions. One is in .338-06 and the other is in .416 Aagaard (.376 Steyr necked up and improved).

Well, I really needed another 30-06.. only have about 18 in the safes.. I do have a 338-06 I built on a Remington 03 action.. love it!.. prolly could justify another on this mauser, if only it didn't shoot so well.... hmmmm Les
