I disagree that the barrels are so-so. Every Interarms rifle I have owned (7) shot under 1". My 270 and 223 shoot about 5/8".

I picked one up back in '85 in '06 that was well worth the $150 hard erned dollars at the time. The original trigger was short of awfull but not much. It was / is quite accurate though, the action is smooth, and feeds flawlessly. I bought a Timney for it and was highly dissapointed. Nate

Interarms was the importer of the Mark X Mauser, among other firearms. Those rifles have commercial Mauser actions and are pretty good guns. The barrels tend to be so-so, but if it won't shoot as you would like for it to, rebarreling is a piece of cake. In "80% condition" I think I would ask for a price concession. $225-250 would be a lot more palatable, but you are not being hurt badly at the higher price.

Dave, You may want to price a new charles daly. They are the same thing as the markx. I just ordered one in 30-06 for 279.00 stainless was 299.00 and it comes with a butler creek stock.
