7.62x39 SR Mauser
I’ve been following the 6.5 Carcano conversion to 7.62x39 and it got me to wondering about converting my K Kale Turk using the barrel kit from Numrich. Is this a reasonable project?
I know all it takes is time and money, but is this even something to consider?

It's a bit of fun to shoot -- but just getting a ruger is cheaper

I actually looked at a Ruger American and although it fits my needs, it just didn’t feel good in my hands. The synthetic stock is my main issue, I didn’t like the feel of it along with the molded trigger guard.

I also looked at the Howa, which I liked better than the Ruger, but it also has the same stock issue. Maybe a CZ... have found one locally to inspect. Last year I handled an Interarms Mini Mauser and it felt good, but I wasn’t motivated enough to buy it.

Then there’s the intangible aspect of having something unique or self made. I’m a lover of milsurps and wouldn’t dare alter an unaltered piece of military history.

Great idea; go for it. Anyone can buy a tupperware rifle from walmart. But one your build yourself will provide far more satisfaction .

cool .. you might consider force 44 solder to fill in the boltface for fitment.

the CZ micro rifle never sat well with me.

you'll likely have some feeding issues, specifically jumping out of the side of the mag.
