And took my M1917 Eddystone loooooooooooooong-term project rifle to a machine shop to get magnafluxed. Thought it would be a good idea before I threw any more money at it.

Drum roll please.........................

No surprises or cracks. The machine shop it a clean bill of health.

If it weren't for every person here telling every poster with a M1917 Enfield to get the gun checked out, I would have never done it. Now I can continue to throw disposable income at it with abandon.

Thanks guys.

Now if I can just get the thing finished....
