Can a Shilen DGA bolt be opened up to magnum from .473”
It’s the single shot. I want to use one for a cartridge based on the 300 PRC.

Thanks

Disclaimer; never done one, but I recall (they are decades old) that the bolt head is like a Savage.
So the procedure would be the same.
Just a thought.

if it's the "old" one, isn't it a rem clone? i dont remember, as my last DGA was a heavy benchgun in 222 -- but that's been 2 generations ago

It’s the old one. I heard back from Shilen. They gave me the number of a gunsmith who has built a lot of rifles on them, and has a stash of spare parts. He said don’t do it. There are no spare parts for the ejector. Not a problem. I can use a single shot FN Mauser or Savage PTA. Or other actions I already have.
