Howdy All, What, if any aftermarket triggers are available for the NEF Handi-Rifle? Or...is there a way to adjust / lighten the factory trigger? I have a 45/70 that is in need of a might bit lighter trigger. The factory trigger is just a bit to stiff for my liking. Any help - recommendations on who can do the work, reference material, guidance, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks Eric

I have a 45/70 Handi Rifle at about 5 pounds, it has a kick that combines the short stabbing pain with the big push across the room pain, with the instant head ache pain. The first time I shot a trapdoor starting load of 405 gr 40 gr IMR4895, I did not fire it again for a year. Reduced to 30 gr, the trajectory is like a rainbow, but you will be able to remember the trigger pull.

Clark, This is my first 45/70.... So far the factory loads I have been shooting are $! spendy! I like this little 45/70 compared to my .444 Marlin. Recoil is there, but at least the NEF has a recoil pad! Whenever I am feeling frisky I grab the .444. THen after 2 rounds I lift my shirt and admire the beautiful embossed hard butt pad imprint on my purple and red, green shoulder. I always said I was gonna' put a pad on her! I hear ya' on the headache thing - kind of reminds my of a .50 BMG in the concusion headache arena. Thanks for the info on the trigger - this will be my winter project as hunting seasons are over for me - tags are filled. Eric
