Pleasing stocks for 1903 Springfields?

Just wondering what some of the fellows here have come to admire in the way of stocks for Springfields. My father recently passed, and left me his old elk rifle, which has the military stock whittled down with an old early 1950s ventilated red recoil pad on it. I'd like something more classic, and as close to drop in as possible. All comments welcome.

Malloy, thanks so much for that! Michael Petrov has been very helpful to me.

He's one of the very most helpful folks I've ever encountered. One of the good guys.

Not drop ins, but GAG has a pretty nice selection of classic style semi-inlets for Springfields. There are others here who would tell you to stay away from GAG, but, over the years I've used a half dozen or so of their stocks and was happy with what I got.

Great American Gunstocks. Several people say they have had issues with them. I never have and have had lots of issues with Boyds and Richards.

+100 on that. Michael is one great guy. His book is a great resource.

"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." I found Mr Petrov while doing research on the .400 Whelen which I have a hankering to build.
He wrote an excellent article on the .400 Whelen, very informative and well written.
