Thanks, i called these guys before i posted.. they had NO CLUE what / why a parker hale was different.... "yah, this will fit on a 1909 or a PH.." so, you have to re-inlet the stock ot make it fit> 'no, you just put it on your new gun"

do you know what the difference is? "yeah, one's a little wider." great, is this the wider one?? "if you don't like it you can just send it back"

these guys are selling bent bolts, and saying "Forged for scope mounting or just replace your straight bolt with one of these forged bolts." with no mention of headspacing...

oh, i might wind up buying it.. knowing it will just go on another mauser if it's not a ph

thanks, really... we all can always hope people selling gun parts have a clue.. these guys... well, dont

Sorry to bounce this one back to the top, but reading this piqued my interest. I may try to tackle a 338 Win Mag done on a VZ-24 sooner or later and if I could find bottom metal that didn't cost an arm and a leg, it might help my proposed project. Will the Parker and Hale trigger guards in the ebay ad fit an M98 or not? If not, are there any Parker and Hale parts that do fit an M98? Last, eyeing those Numrich trigger guards that link provided, what does "final fitting required" mean?

Thanks,
Jason

Tex,
do a search on numrich for "hinged triggerguard, commerical" and you'll find finished ones, that will require opening them up. THese are a NEW product, and are totally finished,blued...

the pakerhale bottoms are HUGE compared to a mauser. wider and deeper...

these mags are huge!!
