Does an FN action have the same footprint as a Mauser large ring. In other words if a stock is inlet for say a 1909, will an FN action drp in and fit?

Yes

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

Yes, but...

The front tang of the 1909 trigger guard, (or most any milsurp) is longer than the FN commercial so there will be a hefty gap.

The solution is to always buy stocks made for the FN; then they will fit any 98 military action, large ring.
Do you need any FN actions? I have them.
