Hello.
I have access to some Mausers, but I need som info on some of them before I buy.
Two of them have the inscription: FB Radom 1937 (and 1938), and WZ29. It looks like large-ring mausers. They have already been rebarreled, but the actions looks untouched by human hands. One is in 6,5x55 SW, and the other 7,62x51.

An other one have only K98 stamped on the left side of the rail, and nothing more exept the number. This looks like a small-ring mauser. It has a 6,5x55 SW barrel. Is this one of those with largering treads?

And finally there is one with the inscription: Republica Peruana (on the front ring), and "ZBROJOVKA BRNO NR PODNIK MODELO 1932" on the left rail. Small-ring(?) It has a 9,3x62 Mauser barrel.

Can some of you tell me some more about these Mausers, quality, suitability for custom projekts, and so on?

I can get them for a very fair price if I want.($60-70 a piece)

The 1932 peruvian small ring is a "holy grail" for mauser collectors. It is a g33/40 (without the lighting cuts on the side) with a high clip slot like it's peruvian brothers, the 1909 DWM and the 1935 FN. High quality and very very rare in original form. I have seen only two examples but both were severely rusted (south american rain forest I guess).

There are two Polish 98 actions, one small ring and the other large ring. The small ring is a copy of the German Kar 98 small ring ( they might even be a polish rearsenaled Kar 98). This small ring uses LARGE RING diameter barrel shanks - probably not a good candidate for use.

The large ring WZ-29 to me is very similar to the Brno VZ-24 except for the extended lip on the front of the receiver ring which is used for attaching the handguard in the rear. My wz-29 is well made and smooth as glass.

I would buy the 32 Peruvian and just keep it in my closet if I were you!

NOTE: You should have any surplus military mauser action tested for hardness. Some polish actions are known to be rather soft.
