I managed to get the discontinued Savage 112 VLD in .25-06
caliber (NIB even!), and want to bed it. Has anyone done this
with a VLD with its blind magazine?

Both pillars are slightly recessed below the wood (even at the
center where the bottom contour of the action should make
contact). My 10MLII was the same way, so enough wood was removed
for contact with the center of each pillar. However, this VLD
has a 90 degree clip which is apparently holding in the blind
magazine. The end of it partially covers the rear pillar. How
does one go about bedding this area? Thanks
