I am looking for a "standard" length military obendorf 98 action made in the early to mid 1930's. Can anyone tell me what to look for? I put a 1935 Chilean army carbine on layaway, but my gunsmith told me that it was probably a slightly shorter "intermediate" action. I need a standard length military action to be converted to a magnum length cartridge. I will end up using a properly heat treated 1909 Argentine (DWM) if I can't find an Oberndorf, but I really would prefer an Oberndorf made action. I am also dead set on using a "military" action. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Chilean 1935 is a standard length action.
Use it. What caliber are you going to put in it?

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

No, none in the 30's.

They started out with '95's from DWM and Ludwig Loewe.

Then came the 1912 Steyr from Austria . A standard length close copy of the GEW 98.

The 1935 Oberndorf's were the only thing from the 30's.

This is according to Ball And Olson
