I just picked up a nice Mauser 98 in 358 Norma. The rear receiver is tapped with two holes that are 7/16" apart from center to center. All the bases that I have will not work with this set up. Does any one have a clue if there our any type of two piece bases that will work?

If all else fails and your Internet research gleans no results, I would recommend a call to Brownell's tech support line on Monday morning. Chances are they either know about it or know something that you could use to make it work.

And if they can't help you, a good gunsmith with a blank base could whip up a rear base for you in a jiffy.
