My smith is working on a Remington model 81 auto loader in 300 savage. Its not a rifle he has worked with before. he is not on the internet so I thought I might help him with a callout fr any reference matieral any one may have. Here you go! Just print him up a copy of this. I know I found it quite usefull when I tore mine down. By the way, they make excellent cast bullet rifles, which is rare for autoloaders. Id like to get one in 35 Rem and have a matching pair. http://www.okiegunsmithshop.com/rem_81.jpg Im no expert on them by any stretch of the imagination, but Ive managed to succesfully re-assemble mine a couple of times using that breakdown.
