I know individuals can apply for permits, but wondering if there are any FFL holders here in the US that specialize in egun transactions and imports.

There are a number of rifles on there that are just plain impossible to find here in the US and when you do, the 4-6X more expensive.

The best bet is to contact gun shops in the country and region that you are importing FROM. There will almost always be one or two shops in every area that have a mule in the USA and other countries that handle all of their import and export on a personal basis. Here in Alberta and Saskatchewan we have Prophet River Sports. They have a bunch of girls who basically do nothing but manage imports and exports for individuals. The price is quite cheap.

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

There are companies in Germany that specialize in this sort of thing. One company often mentioned is Waffen Bock in Pirmasens (http://www.waffenexport24.de). I have only bought a gun from them once, never used them for import/export, so I cannot comment on the quality of their service. However, they seem to have a good reputation and many Egun sellers explicitly state that they will only export through them.

They do not mention language skills on their web page, but based on the nature of their business, I would expect you could contact them in English.

Steve Bertram “Bertram & Co.” (ACGG) is a great guy for importing, have personal experience with him importing a rifle from Oz.

I haven’t had Steve import anything for me, but I like him and would give him a shot. He has some Mauser parts on order for me from Gottfried Prechtl.
