Ditto, what fla3006 said!!!!

A few more details would be appreciated.

That's a great looking bolt handle.

It's got a heavy sporter, not sure what contour, barrel from McGowan. They also did the bolt handle. Years later the rifle was redone. The bolt handle was lengthened and I think the stock was replaced with this Brown pres. stock. The side mount was installed then too.

The guy that owns it is BIG and he likes the long bolt handle.

I should have taken pics of both rifles. The scope was being replaced on the 35W.

I'm sorry, but putting an '03 action in a synthetic stock is a crime against nature...

Amen on the plastic. Plasiic looks best with a potmetal action.
Good Luck!

Idared, that one would get my vote as well.

A Hart Arms Springfield with a Harvey Rodgers stock. Built on a National Match barreled action with Star gaged barrel. Likely Kornbrath engraved bolt handle. The rifle looks even better when removed from the stock. The Rodgers inletting is simply amazing. The rifle was built around 1930. In my humble opinion, Rodgers was 30 years ahead of his time. The attention to detail, fit, checkering, inletting, and execution on this rifle would be a match for any of the post-war stock makers. Particularly the checkering and inletting. What MR Petrov said about Rodgers in his book is spot on.

One interesting thing on this rifle is that the Lyman 48 base was modified so that the stock would not have to be cut for clearance. This was way before Lyman began doing this. Also, two slides have been fitted to the base. One with a small elevation knob and the windage knob removed which the owner used for hunting, and another with the larger knobs that was used for target shooting. The extra slide as well as a note of paper with zero's for each sight is kept in the trap buttplate.

Thanks for posting.
