Hello I hope you all can help me with some info. I saw a 30-06 Smith & Wesson rifle the other day.I like mausers and this had a mauser action that looked different. I only glanced at it and noticed that the bottom metal is aluminum with most of the black gone. It had decent grained wood that showed used. The metal looked ok. The action though looked interesting. The bolt release was not military.the sides of the action where straight with no thumb cutout. The action had a very clean look to it. I got all this at a just a glance. I think it had something on it that sade Type A but not sure. Can you give me more info about it and what its worth?

This is likely the model A rifle built between 1969-1972. 23.750" bbl, folding leaf rear sight, checkered Monte Carlo stock with rosewood forend tip and matching grip cap. from 60% to 100% in my blue book the range is $165 - $385. while this book is somewhat old, it is the fifteenth edition, its a start. _______________________________________________________________________________ This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend, it is my life.
