Anybody tried either of the above rings ? How do they compare with Warne Maxima or Talley ?

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

I have used both on several guns and like them very well, rock solid and return to zero. I use a piece of wax paper when snapping the ring over the tube on the scope, keeps from scratching the tube, which these will tend to do.

jimmyd223 ,
The pictures in the Leupold catalogue only show only side of the mount . Do they only have screws on the one side like some of the Weavers ? Your comment on snapping over the tube makes me ask .

Someone else posted that they scratch the scope finish when installing.

The QRW have screws on both side of the top half of the ring, but the top "half" is more like 200 degrees rather that 180. Why they did that I don't know. You can scratch the scope installing them.

That's my only gripe with them, though. I use them on my 416 Rem. They are very stout and repeatable return to zero.

I think they beat Warne. Have never tried Talley.

Used the QRW's on several .375 & .2 .458 Lotts with great results.

Thanks for your comments .Might give them a miss due to the scratch issue . Warne are good in that regard and (fixed models) certainly hold their zero .
