The below is copies of faxes received, I could not make this stuff up if I wanted to, take a close look at the days and times of the faxes.
And I thought I was a work alcoholic.
Just a small insight as to what we have to deal with during our work week selling gunparts.

The CUSTOMER is in Eastern Time while we are in Pacific Time, but still.

Jim Wisner

First order faxed at 5:30 PM ET 6/12/13
For two pins, two screws, Winchester model 94 parts.

Second order faxed at 7:37 AM ET 6/13/13
Hello I placed this order last night, hopefully you have not filled it yet. My rifle does not take the link pin, so if you can please remove that item from the order and replace it with a second lever pin. There is a $ 0.50 difference, just keep it. I have enclosed a second order form. Please disregard the first one faxed yesterday. If you have any questions please call or email me.

Third order faxed at 9:17 PM ET 6/13/13
I all ready placed a order with you on the 13th, please add one of # xxxx screw.

Fourth fax 10:54 PM ET 6/13/13
Please cancel my order since you haven’t charged my card yet. I ordered these parts from another distributer and there is not enough in my paypal account to pay for the order I placed with you.
You are too slow and frankly you strike me as a company of assholes. Like it’s a hassle to place an order. And just in case I am putting a stop payment on anything from your company.

It works both ways. I sent an email yesterday about getting inside of the objective lens cleaned on a 12X Redfield scope.

On Iron Sight's web site they list 12 to 14 months turn around for a scope repair. I do not know how a company would keep track of a years worth of repairs to be staged. Heck I might not even live that long.

Here is his answer..

Mr. XXXXXX,

The turnaround time is correct, although we are closer to a 15 month turnaround time currently. We charge $95 to refurbish 12X Redfield scopes, which would include cleaning/replacing the lens.

Thank You,

Geez Jim you need to speed up your shipping what do you mean it wasn't shipped in less than 24hrs. Funny if you did ship it as fast as he thought you should have he would have gotten all the wrong parts. Seriously people seem to forget about when everything you ordered was quoted a 6-8 week ship time, now everyone expects 6-8 hours or minutes in this guys case.

They want instant gratification.

Now is not soon enough, yesterday would be great.

Kind of sounds like when i worked in the oil field, everything was needed yesterday.

Then when you got there you waited for 1/2 a day.

Mr. Wisner, Sounds like your customer is about to O.D. on REDBULL or something. I'm in another line of work than you. But, I can tell you that the tiny retail deals have the potential to be the toughest ones to work. Always been that way.

At least the guy knew who he was trying to deal with. About 1971 or so the post office delivered a letter to Jack Shine the gunsmith who had his shop in Mt. View Sports Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
The letter was addressed: Gunsmith, Anchorage, Alberta.

I had an instance with a fuel filter for a Mantis tiller I had ordered and forgot about. After 9 months they called and said hey buddy, your part is here. Come and get it. Wha'? They closed their doors 1 month later.

We get calls asking……..

“I need a handgun today, what do you have?”
Or
“Do I have to pass the background check to buy a gun?”

I tell them we have nothing in stock and suggest they try Cabela’s

And people wonder why I want to be as remote as possible...unfortunately this type of behavior isn't unusual no matter what the profession is. I did get a chuckle out of the emails. Either this fellow is really that stupid or was cranked up on something, or both. You can fix ignorance but you cant fix stupid. Last but not least, "not enough money in my paypal account", what is wrong with that picture?

Lol, Butch.....no doubt you were one of my customers. Did you deduct all your credits before they were returned too?

Btw I did supply price, service and inventory and ran almost all my competition out of business, but thank god i'm out of that business now.

fast996,
Most of my parts suppliers are damned good. For 35yrs I have paid all of my parts bills daily. I have my cores and defects segregated so the delivery folks have no trouble knowing what they need to pick up. I stock no parts as my suppliers have them and they are out to me promptly.
Kidding in the previous post.

Hi Butch,

We have talked before on the phone. I really enjoyed customers, like you. But the real problem makers I weeded out,or I billed them 50 bucks for aggravation, that fixed the problem, one way or the other.
