I have a Remington 700 in 223 (Adl Syn) What I need 2 know is.
I have found a NEW UNFIRED 223 bbl 700 that I want 2 chamber 2 a 222 Rem Mag. I know that is no problem.
However is it not possible 4 my gunsmith to take PRECISE measurments and he B able 2 chamber any barrel to the action from those measurments???
I hope I explained this correctly, the reason I asked wasI know the benchrest 'smiths do it all the time.

It can be done easily, your smith just needs to drill and pin the recoil lug and you will have to get yourself a barrel vise, action wrench, and headspace gauges.

Why would you do this?
