Yep. BUT, CZ uses the same type system for their short cartridges in the 550. They're a little less obtrusive , but still pretty ugly. I have one.
Edit: double stack, center feed in the CZ, it holds more down.

While these are ugly and clumsy to detach, they allow for center line feeding, something I feel improves any rifle used as a DGR. If it works with a 9.3x62, I would consider it.

It would be a trade-off of one or two rounds vs. more reliability.
