| Definitely not 1885, have all those parts to compare and am familiar with them. I'm with eagle27, think it's a cocking sear, but couldn't find anything close. The odd thing is I have 6 newly manufactured ones, so someone thought it was a common part! |

Moved house and while unpacking books came across an old Dixie Gun Works catalogue circa late 60's that I knew I had somewhere. From photos of parts in the catalogue it seems your parts are what are called "tumblers" used in old shotgun and blackpowder gun locks. The catalogue shows a few tumblers, some similar shape to yours, and references wax casting of these. Those in your image look to be cast too. |

| Thanks! Unfortunately, went in the scrap metal when I couldn't figure out anything about them. I have too much clutter to keep stuff like this around! |
