I like my CZ 550 American in 9.3x62 so much I was wondering if I could have it turned into a semi-switch barrel; some 6.5mm caliber. Either a 260 Rem (just got one for my 18 yr old daugher so I'll be set up to reload for it), 6.5x55 or maybe even 6.5-06. Could it be done, cost much, and how easy to switch back and forth? Alan

Why not just buy a second CZ 550 in 6.5x55? It'd be cheaper than getting yours set up as a switch barrel.

An action set up to handle the 9.3x62 length case is not going to want to work with the shorter 260. A 6.5-06 would work and probably even a 6.5x55. Depending on how easy you want the switch set up it could be simply a new barrel and a set screw. Then you have the issue of scope and point of impact. If you like the American and want a 6.5 I would think you would be $$ ahead and happier just buying one in 6.5x55. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

X2, She'll eventually grow into it. If not at least you have it!
