Hi!

I found this strange trigger on my BRNO M98 Mauser:

What do you think, is there any posibility of a trigger job or trigger replacement? Thanks in advance!

Nothing strange about it. I am not at home where I have a few, but offhand it appears to be just a standard 98 military (probably 2 stage) trigger. As far as replacing it, that is purely up to you. Most owners of sporterized 98's will opt for one of the aftermarket adjustable triggers.

Petr,
this one, to us, looks normal, as I just picked up a vz sitting on my desk.. .exactly the same trigger.

What looks odd to you on this?

jeffeosso, Maybe its just my end of the shift eyesight but the more I look at that picture the more it looks like the pointer is pointing at ears or a flange. Am I putting something there that isnt? Yo Pete, how bout another pic from a different angle.

Thanks for all replies. Yes, the picture was taken with the reciever. I am sorry, I have never seen mauser military trigger before, that is why it looked strange to me.

I would like to modify the trigger pull. What do you think, change the whole trigger or work on this? If change, for which one? Timney, e.g.? If modifying, how to do that? Thanks again!

A military trigger can be improved upon, but it will never be a great trigger...I would order a Blackburn trigger as they are steel and sit back in the trigger guard where a trigger should be IMO....but a Timney will get you by at half the price....
