It's marked Ceskoslovenska Zbrojovka, A.S, BRNO on the right side. Drilled and tapped for scope, 30-06 barrel, low safety, low bolt, pretty good bluing. Walnut stock with blind magazine. Are these good mausers to mess with?? At $225 OTD I'm pretty tempted. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

The BRNOs are good actions but I would have to see close up photos of the drilled receiver & the altered bolt to make a judgement. Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

At $225 you can't go too wrong.....especially if the .30-06 cartridge is what you want. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." That sounds like it might be a post war action but price doesn't sound to bad. Rad NRA Benefactor Member

Is it a sporterized Mauser, or a CZ sporter, you know, was it manufactured as a sporting rifle? I wouldn't pass up a CZ anything for that money as long as it wasn't Mickey Moused as to the metal work.

Oh yes you can. If the holes were drilled like the action for sale in the classifieds, well, you get the idea. Aut vincere aut mori

Well, I bought it today. I made a dummy round last night and tried it out in the store before I bought it~feed and eject no problems. Pulled off the stock and found some light pitting below the stock line~no problem for me. It weighs 7lbs 5ozs with a 22" barrel Tell me what you think?? Here are some pics. Check out the brass triggerguard!!!

Looks like you're off to a good start. Is that bolt handle a little crooked though or is it the lighting or photo angle? Congradulations! An old man sleeps with his conscience, a young man sleeps with his dreams.

The first thing I would do, if you plan on using it with a scope, is to put a set of bases and rings on it, with a set of ring alignment tools and find out how far out of square that rear base is drilled. Of course, it could be these old eyes.... MKane160 You can always make more money, you can never make more time...........LLYWD. Have you signed your donor card yet?

Well worth the 225$ in my opinion. You did well! I would buff and polish the bolt body and handle and then I would shoot it for all its worth, if it looks like a shooter then if it were mine I'd put a 3 position safety on it (I hate those Buehler types as sometimes they get so close to the scope that you can't get it "off" safe with gloves on, frustrating!). Good find!

The bolt looks straight to me. I got some weaver bases today and will check the alignment tonight. I think it could have a future as a 338-06 or 35 Whelen.

Nice deal for two-and-a-quarter As-is shooter, or a starter for a project, either way. Anyone have an idea what the trigger guard come off of?

Thanks guys. Hopefully it will be a shooter. I loaded 3 different starting loads last night and I'm going to give it a whirl at lunch time.
