Just use those "keys" to eat corn on the cob! [ 02-26-2003, 18:07: Message edited by: Huntaholic ]

I think they did it to keep the custom parts makers in business, imagine how many replacement bolt shrouds are going to be sold, there are a couple of adds for them in the last Precision Shooting.

I gave up on Remington long ago as a hunting rifle anyway. This J lock thing does not matter to me as it's just fuel on a burned out fire. The Rem 700's have a dinky extractor, no CRF, a bolt that has the locking lug portion brazed on and if that were not enough to turn you off the bolt handle is brazed on too! There is more wrong with them too but that's enough. As a target rifle they are fine and have advantages but not as a hunting rifle.

I like the corn on the cob idea!!! I might have to get a few extra sets. I'm in Omaha. Mills County.....Glenwood maybe? If you're that close, we'll have to get together and do a little range time.

What is a jay lock, I have never owned one of the 700's, probably never will and I get by eating corn with regular stickers....

As a one man boycott I refuse to buy a rem with a j lock.I know my purchases don't amount to a pee hole in the snow, but I'll continue just the same. Jeff
