A friend of mine mounted a scope on his Ruger 77/22 and ran out of elevation. His scope is maxed out and still 3/4" low. I can't remember whether he needs to shim under the front or rear ring.

You need to raise the back of the scope.

I suggest using Burris Signature rings with the offset inserts to correct the problem. This worked for me up to 416 Rem - I assume it will stand up to a .22RF.

Thanks!! I figured putting the shim under the rear ring would put the crosshairs verrrrry low, thus forcing him to raise the gun to put the crosshairs on center....thanx again.
