I need to remove the hammer from an 86 (original made in 92) to do a repair for a long ago break.

Two things:
Can I remove JUST the hammer, or do I have to remove more to get the hammer out?

What steel to weld on to rebuild the hammer spur to original length?

It's been a while since I took one off but I THINK you remove the buttstock (one screw thru the top tang at rear)Remove the mainspring (one screw in bottom tang) remove the hammer screw thru the side and lift out. Not at home so don't have manuals available and from memory at my age it's dicey.
