What follower will I need to turn a 22-250 WIn 70 Short action Lightweight into a 257 Roberts using a take-off Featherweight barrel? I know I'm going to have to remove the spacer from the mag box. Would a follower for the 308 family of cartridges work? Craig "Keep your nose in the wind and your eyes along the skyline."

Not real well....... I believe that you could use a follower for the 257 that was put in the long actions and then trim down the length to fit the mag box.....Just a thought. The 308 follower is probably going to be a bit short, which will probably cause poor feeding. Williams Machine Works

Craig, Don't have a clue about your question...but if I recall I have a Remington mag box that you wanted to use for a project awhile back. I sent you two and then found a third and you said you would let me know when you needed it. My computer took a puke on me and I was off line and not on this forum for about 8 months and in that time I forgot all about the mag box until I just saw your name on this post. If you still want the box, PM me with an address to send it and I will get it right off to you.

Guys, I called Winchester this afternoon and asked about the follower. They told me the 257 Roberts used the same follower as the 308. SO if anyone has an extra lying around, let me know. Rick 0311, I justy sent you a pm. Craig "Keep your nose in the wind and your eyes along the skyline."

Well, that doesn't surprise me too much considering these are the same guys that have a hard time figuring out how to get three rounds of WSM's into their receivers. Did they also mention that the 257 roberts has only been chambered in their "long-actions" and "pre-64's"??? Good luck, but I'm afraid you might run into some feeding problems.
