I bought an M-48 Yugo 8mm some time back for a plinker. I replaced the rear sight with a "Mojo" front sight which worked better. I'm now thinking I'd like to try a Lyman or Williams receiver sight for finer adjustment and accuracy. Will a Lyman or Williams for a standard Mauser 98 work? Has anyone tried this? Will the factory front sight still be usable or, will I have to get a significantly higher or lower one? It might just be trial and error for the front sight but my main concern is if there will be any problems intalling the receiver sight. Thanks.

You'll need to drill & tap of course but yes, a standard 98 receiver sight will work. I made this peep sight recently for an M48. XS sights sells one just like it but theirs requires drilling & tapping and alterations to the charger hump.
