I have a McMillan Mountain Rifle ADL stock in Desert Camo that I'd like to convert to a BDL style stock. I have the mag box and floorplate so no problem there. How do you remove the front escutcheon in the stock to inlet that area? (without destroying the stock) BTW, the stock has been pillar bedded. NRA Life Member NRA Charter Member Golden Eagles

If it is a standard Remington type escutcheon, an easy out should work. If it is part of the front pillar, as I do mine, you may have to mill it out.

You might also need to use the ADL mag box since it's a smidgen deeper and the stock may need that. I converted a couple 80's era ADL walnut stocks to BDL since those stocks fit me just right and had more classic lines. And they needed a bit more mag box depth which the ADL box provided. Same case with a Brown Precision stock I converted.

When changing from ADL to BDL the ADL mag box will be to long. You will have to grind the ADL box or, find a BDL box. Brownell's?
