My heavy barrel .243 Encore doesn't group worth a damn and I'm trying to eliminate possible causes. How should the fore-end fit? Right now it is riding heavy on the cross ribs and the front screw pedestal. All my bolt guns have floated barrels, so I'm inclined toward grinding down the ribs and only having contact at the screws. I'd appreciate some knowledgeable suggestions.
