Gentleman:
I have a CZ 550 Magnum action with 375 bolt face and was wondering if it would be suitable for the 404 Jefferies round. Would a bolt face alteration all that I would have to have done to make this work?

Any action currently safely chambered for .375 H&H should be capable of hosting the .404 Jeffery.

There will be some modifications but they should be minor.

I haven't built one yet....looking at it with my '17 Enfield in .375 H&H... so read the opinions of others as well.

You can do it alright, but man, that's such a nice long action, it's just a shame not to make it a 3 3/4" round.

Don't you just love the 470 Mbogo?

Something fun would be a 416-404 Imp. Those 325g North Forks at 3.75" would scream out of there at 2900 fps!!! That with a 450g at 2450 would make a beast of a one-gun.

Is there any word on the three position safeties Jim Wisener was planning to produce for the 602. I have 2 and the 404 is high on my list.
