If it is a M96 with all matching Ser# in Excellent Condition, 99%Blue, #1 or #2 bore(on brass disk) and Very minor stock dings it is probably worth in the $200.00-$250.00 range. These are FANTASTIC RIFLES!!

Good Luck!!

If it's in very good shape it may not be a steal, but a very good buy.

Offer $175.00 for it and/or dicker for bullets, etc. Get it for $185.00, you done good.

Ty.
I have always been envy at the much lower prices over in the US. When "your" US made rifles finally reach Sweden they are up 20 to 40 %, sometimes more.
This is the first time Ive heard its the other way around. A rifle, like you guys discribe it, would cost something like 30$ over here.
This didnt add much to the actuall topic, just wanted you to know.

Over here these rifles have a strong colecters value. When they were first coming into the country they were worth half of what they are now. I bet that in ten years even the rifles over were you are will be worth alot more. Unfortuanly the surplus market will total dry up one day. Because all of the rifles will be older machine guns that will be illegale to own.

m1carbine.
Its not that many folks collecting rifles here as in the US, I believe. And almost all M96 are customized into ordinary hunting rifles. Regarding the price for them it hasnt changed for the last 15 years. Thats 30$ for an unaltered one and between 20 to 30$ for a customized one.
