I just picked up a new stock that has a "Whitworth" butt pad that I would like to darken up Question is -- do I have to strip it first or can I just add a stain and some Tru oil or other finish | ||

Strip first. Doubt the finish is very thick. Sanding should do it. As usual just my $.02 Paul K | |||
