DKimRuger M77 MkII and Hawkeye - True CRF?
My definition of CRF is that the bolt controls the round once it "pops" out of the magazine. This should be the case for slow feeding or fast with the muzzle pointed up, horizontal or down, and for all rounds in the magazine.
My Win 70 Classic does this as does a 9.3x62 Mauser. The Rugers I have had do not, and could not be made to work this way. Typically some of the rounds will jump out in front of the bolt - especially when the muzzle is pointed down and the feeding is done slowly.
I have had other Mausers that have done the same thing.
What do you think?

ted thornMy Ruger 77 and both of my Kimbers are the same way as you describe.
The rounds from my rifles never gets grabbed by the claw during feeding....this has always made me wonder?

jeffeossothe later 77mkII and the hawkeyes are .. if you misfeed a mauser, it does the same .. EXCEPT its not as easy to go ahead and override the case in the chamber.
