I lost the sight in my right eye. For the past year I have been shooting my 7MM WM left handed. I still put the rifle to my right shoulder when a deer comes into view. I see that RW Hart barrel co makes an offset scope mount for $65.00. Has anybody tried this setup or one like it. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you Dave

The farther you move the scope away from bore line the more problems you have shooting at different ranges. I've seen stocks made offset just for the situation you're in. Keeps the scope close to the barrel.

PD--my brother had the same problem, and the offset mount solved a good portion of his problem.

Frank DeHaas had the same condition; might be worth some research, I forget how he handled it. Good luck with this, keep shootin'.

I just put one on a BR rifle for a customer who has a right eye problem. Sure looks weird but seems to work OK. I would not want to try it on a hunting rifle for quick shots. Just a note the offset mount you referred to is available from R.W. Hart & Son Inc. in Nescopeck Pa. Their cousin P.J. Hart, the barrel maker, is in NY.

Dave, Have you looked at the Williams Gusight Company side mounts. Gereally don't like them but this sounds like one of the few times they would be good. The mounts are strong. Williams make 2 style of rings for the side mounts. 1st is a standard williams side mount ring which places the scope direct on top of the side mount. Which should give about an inch offset for the scope from the bore. The 2nd style are the HCO rings. Which are offset rings designed to place the rings back over the bore. However, you can turn the rings around and they will position the scope about 2 inches away from the bore. Mark Holycross
