I am looking seriously at New Ultralight Arms for a rifle. Any personal experiences or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! MIBIGHNTR

I have a ULA model 24 in 30-06. It is accurate ,a pleasure to take for a walk,it is the best balanced rifle I have owned or used and it weighs 5 3/4LBs with 3x9 Leupold. It is also beautifully made. The recoil is noticeable at the bench but not in the paddock. Melvin Forbes Of New Ultra Light Arms is a great person to deal with. In my opinion they are fantastic!!!!!! I have a NULA Arms Model 28 300WSM and a Model 20 .22 Rimfire. Both are outstanding shooters and balance well. I'm taking the 300WSM to Zimbabwe May 1st. Mel is a great guy to do business with - very knowledgeable, and eager to please. I think you'd be quite happy with one of his rifles. Jeff

Thanks for the info! I took the plunge! Ordered four NULA's and now need to decide on stock color. I am going to go with the NULA signature tiger-stripe but am uncertain of the colors to choose. Anyone care to share some pictures of their NULA's??? Thanks! MIBIGHNTR

WHOA! Now that is what I call a serious battery!!! What chamberings and models? Enquiring mind(s) want to know. Good luck with your rifles. The was a story about a .257 Roberts in Handloader a month or so by Barsness. It has a green, black, grey (I think there was 3 colors) stock with a matte action and SS barrel. I LIKED it alot! I have ordered a .300WSM (Model 28S), a .270WSM (Model 28S), a Tactical .20 (Model 20S), and a .22LR (Model 20RF). The three centerfires will have 24", # 2 contour, stainless barrels, and the .22LR will have a 22", # 1 contour, stainless barrel. Matte finish on entire rifle and scopes. LOP on all four will be the same. I have two Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40's for the WSM's, a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5-14x40AO for the Tact. 20, and a Leupold Compact 3-9x33 EFR for the .22. I have tentatively settled on a color scheme after looking through 100's of paint chips. Medium/Dark Grey background with Dark Tan and Dark Olive/Black stripes. Should be good for most of my hunting here in MI timber and swamps. Now the hard part......waiting! MIBIGHNTR [ 04-10-2003, 17:11: Message edited by: MIBIGHNTR ]

Sounds like a good battery! Let me know how the Tact 20 works out, I'm thinking of one of those for my predator/varmint rifle.
