I remember working at a local gun shop back in the late 70’s and we had a Winchester 1895 in 7.62 Russian on display for a long time. Had to be close to a year. No one was interested in it. Yeah… pre-internet.

95 7.62 Russiansa are rare; they all went to Russia and didn't come back.

A rare rifle indeed. I would love to see winchester reproduce this model as one of their new issues.

Except bring it back in .30-40 Krag so we could get some brass to reload!

The 7,62R Russian version of the Winchester 1895 is certainly rare in the USA, but from the production figures I have seen quoted those sent to Russia (and never came back) amounted to nearly 70% of the total production of M1895s; 293,816 out of 425,881.
