Going to have to grown longer fingers Will. I usually use their Sako Hunter style stocks for Sakos, Remingtons, and Rugers. The forends are smaller than on some of the other styles. Pretty snazzy looking also. Think I'll get glitter candy apple flames painted on my next one.....

No can whack away on stock.

The McMillan stocks are filled with microballons mixed with epoxy, it looks a bit like styrofoam.

The previous posts is spot on, you will ruin the stock by altering the outside!

Going to get a McMillan stock, with which the forend is going to be too bulky. Does it hurt anything (besides the warranty) to whack away on the stock? I can't imagine why it would but defer to those that may know.

I had them "solid pour" the action area on my competition stock so I could modify it for shooting split finger off hand. But the rest of the stock would not work to do any whittling on.

A better plan is to get a stocked that's shaped right to begin with........
