Been looking at a barrel band for the .458 AR as it seems likely that the recoil of a 9.5 pound rifle could jam the front sling swivel into ones left hand. Noticed at Brownell's that the cost of a Talley band is very much less than a Gentry band. Is the difference between the two significant? Also ... is it considered crude to use something like the Michael's of Oregon partial band? (Silly question I would guess, but answers should be interesting.) Just my humble opinion, but I would not use anything from Gentry even if he gave it to me, well maybe then. I have found all of Talley's parts are excellent and on top of that, he has a great warranty. Jim, how does Talley compare to NECG? Rod -------------------------------- "A hunter should not choose the cal, cartridge, and bullet that will kill an animal when everything is right; rather, he should choose ones that will kill the most efficiently when everything goes wrong" Bob Hagel | |||
