Anybody have any experience with current production Remington 40X rifles? I may be able to buy one for a good price. I've always heard they are very accurate and are made much better than a "regular" Remington but I'm wondering if that still holds true.

The 40X series of Remingtons are very fine rifles. They are basically a 700 action put together with much closer tolerances. The action is not finish bored and turned untill AFTER heat treatment. The action markings are electro/chemial etched not stamped so as to not deform the action. Some have a more sophisticated 3 lever trigger. The most accurate is the 40 XB which is a solid bottom single shot. The 40X being magazine fed. You can probably gather a lot more information on VarmintHunter.com
